Raising Finance for your New or Existing Business
Very few business ideas can get started without external financing, this is also true for existing businesses who needs finance to grow too the next level.
For most business owners the worst and most challenging part of beginning or running a business is to ask for money. It doesn't matter whether it is family, a bank or private investor that you need to approach it is not easy!
Under the tight current economic situation it is even more difficult to successfully apply for finance. Although we cannot guarantee you success, our experience and international network of investors will definitely improve your chances for success!
In order to approach a private investor or financial institution you need a well structured business plan, financial plan and relevant appendices. If you have this available, Great!, we will need an electronic copy of your executive summary to forward to our network so that we can stimulate interest. once we have interested investors we will present your business plan and if the investor is seriously considering to invest in your venture we will assist you to negotiate the terms and conditions.
We strongly recommend that you involve your attorney in drafting or approving the legal agreement between you and the investor. JB Consultants does not take any responsibility for the agreements or terms as negotiated between you and the investor. We merely act as the facilitator in the process.
We will forward you a formal agreement that will stipulate the agreement between us and yourself, before we will begin with approaching investors or financial institutions with your application for finance.
We will charge you a non refundable registration fee of R2500 which will be used too:

present your investment opportunity to our network of investors (International) and or financial institutions (Local - South Africa)

inform you of interested investors and or financial institutions
we will charge you a success fee once funds have been successfully raised for your project. This success fee will be equal to a percentage of the funds raised and will be included in the total amount of finance applied for. This fee will be between 1 - 3% of the sum raised (depending on the size of the investment) and will be payable as soon as the finance is made available.

We provide you with a template for a business plan and the narrative that guides you to draft the business plan. Included are two feedback sessions by us in the form of remarks and suggestions to your plan. Feedback can be done via telephone or by e-mail. Should you need more assistance than the aforementioned, additional assistance can be negotiated at an additional fee.
Remarks
This is the option for those clients that have done business plans before or those that prefer the DIY option.

Option Two |
Business Plan Questionnaire
We send you a questionnaire
covering the information needed to draft your business
plan. You complete it and return it to us. We then draft
the business plan from the information supplied and send
you the final business plan in a Word (for the
narrative) and Excel (for the financial plan) format.
You can then print and bind the business plan so that
you can hand out copies to the bank, investors or your
business partners.
The
questionnaire is compiled in a easy to understand
manner. We will gladly assist you with any further
information or assistance you may need.
Remarks
This is the option for those clients who want to be involved in the collecting of the information for the business plan but need someone to help them in converting this information in to a professional looking business plan, that will be acceptable to the bank, investors and their business partners.
This option also allows the client
to determine the tempo of the planning process and
will give the client the benefit of our experience
to customise the plan to their specific situation.

The fee for the above option is
R4000 ($535 US)

Option Three |
The same as option one, but we break the business plan down into three parts and help you and mentor you through the drafting process. This option includes four feedback sessions by us in the form of remarks and suggestions to your plan. Feedback can be done via telephone if local or else by e-mail. Should you need more assistance than the aforementioned, additional assistance can be negotiated at a fee.
Remarks
This is the option for those clients that are comfortable to draft most of the plan themselves. They only need a template and some mentoring and guidance by us during the drafting process
The client can be anywhere in the world as we can render this service via e-mail.
Fees
The fee for the above option is
R5000 ($670 US)

Option Four |
This is the comprehensive hands-on service. We personally mentor you through the business plan drafting process by means of one-on-one meetings. At the first meeting we discuss and debate the first section of the plan in detail with you to make sure that you understand what you need to do, you then go home to do the homework. At the next meetings we will first discuss the homework done by you and debate any part of it with you as and when necessary. Secondly we will discuss and explain the next section of the business plan with you so that you will be able to do the necessary homework for the next session. This process will continue until the business plan is completed.
Remarks
This is the option for those clients who have a more complicated business idea and need a comprehensive mentoring service.
It is also for those client who are not comfortable to do the business plan on their own and need the services of a mentor who can act as a sounding board for their ideas and also challenge their thinking to make sure that they consider their plan very carefully.
This option allows you to
determine the tempo of the process and will give you
the benefit of our experience to customise the plan
to your specific situation. This option can only be
followed if you are within the geographic area of
one of our mentors.
Fees
The fee for the above option is R600 per hour
($80 US) and the number of hours needed will be
determined by the client and how complicated
the business plan is. Our experience has been that
generally 20 hours are enough for a standard
business plan. More complicated business plans may
need more hours

Free Business Plan Template !!
Do you really want to do it yourself? Well, we have the template for you. The template does not include the financial plan for the business plan. Our experience is that most new and existing business owners do not have the knowledge to draft a financial plan that is acceptable to the banks and investors. We have developed a comprehensive financial model projecting financial figures over a 60 month period. (It covers all the information generally needed by banks and investors) We will gladly assist you with the drafting of a financial plan should you need that at a nominal fee of R1000.
Our experience have been that it is a good idea to start with your financial plan first as that will give you a very good idea whether your business idea is viable and we will evaluate it to see whether you are realistic in your approach. Once that is achieved you then start with the narrative part of the business plan
